U4GM - The Underwhelming Role of League Mechanics and the Atlas in POE 2
The current state of league mechanics and the atlas tree in POE 2 negatively affects player engagement and "poe 2 currency" farming. Many league mechanics feel useless, and the atlas itself seems pointless because players often skip these mechanics entirely. The atlas passive tree is minimalistic, offering few meaningful choices, which results in players focusing only on nodes that increase map effects, rarity, and quantity.
A major improvement would be to massively buff league mechanics, making them rewarding and exciting to engage with. Players should be able to invest heavily in specific mechanics like rogue exiles, strongboxes, shrines, and essence encounters to see tangible benefits and increased loot. For example, rogue exiles currently appear too infrequently and are too weak to be a meaningful challenge or reward source. Expanding the atlas tree with more nodes and options would encourage diverse playstyles and make the game’s exploration and loot systems more dynamic and rewarding.
